1866 (Jan 1): 2 pi. orange-yellow, a diagonally bisected example used to pay the 1 pi. single rate on 1867 cover to Suez, tied by three strikes of the "Poste Vice-Reali Egiziane / Cairo" cds in blue (July 24). Reverse with Suez arrival cds of the same day in black. File fold well away from the adhesive, an exceptional bisected usage and most attractive. Signed Todd AIEP. Cert. 1874/75: Bûlâq covers (3) all at post-UPU rates of 1½ piastres, with 1876 cover to Constantinople franked by pair of 10 pa. grey and 1 pi. red tied by "Poste Egiziane / Cairo" cds's (May 9) unusually mailed via the Austrian P.O. in Alexandria and carried on a Lloyd vessel to destination; strip of three 20 pa. grey-blue used on 1877 entire letter from Cairo to France by British Packet and an 1878 cover with 20 pa. and 1 pi. to Westchester, USA from Cairo via Queenstown. SUEZ transit cds (Oct 20) and large cicular PD in black and reverse with fine "Sea / Post Office / D" cds of the same day and carried to Bombay on the 'Surat'.
