    Salvador. 1879: Coat of Arms issue collection with mint sets, 1 c. green blocks (4) of twenty five showing "V" for "A" errors and used on cover etc., 2 c. rose in a block of fifteen mint, 5 c. blue pair on large piece with 1 c.; 20 c. used block of four on piece, fine cancellation study on complete sets, a fresh and generally fine lot.

    Salvador. 1881 (Nov 1): Cover to Paris franked by 1879 1 c. green and horizontal pair of 5 c. blue, one short perf., cancelled by dotted obliterator cancel in blue with "Administracion de Correos / Santa Ana" cds at upper left. Struck with octagonal "Panama - Union / Paq. F. A. No. 1" French Paquebot in red alongside (Oct 1) with year date inverted and reverse with Paris arrival cds. A delightful and scarce cover. Cert. No. 2" French Paquebot in black, the adhesives cancelled on arrival by bluen Paris cds (Nov 25). Slightest of tone spots on the 10 c. adhesive but a fine and rare cover.     1883 (Nov 27): Remarkable four colour franking registered cover at double rate to Munich bearing 1879 2 c. rose, 5 c. blue, 10 c. black and 20 c. violet all cancelled by intaglio star cancels and by red San Salvador cds. Framed "Rejistrado" handstamp below and London transit datestamp, reverse with Munich arrival (Dec 31). Rated at Postage 2 x 11 centavos + Registration 15 centavos. Minor ageing and some wear but a rare and appealing cover. Cert. Rendon (1986).
