1872/79: 1 s. green, wmk. Crown CC, perf. 14, a used marginal example on 1878 cover to London, Matthews correspondence, tied by "A06" obliterator in black. BELIZE despatch datestamp at left (Dec 16). Reverse with London arrival (Jan 14, 1879) in red. An extremely rare stamp: just ten stamps surcharged thus, one was lost in a fire at the Belize Post Office a few years after issue, another is housed in the collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
