Vellum manuscript from Rome showing official firm writing and addressed to the Vescovo (Bishop) di Pistoia (Grand Duchy of Tuscany), headed GREGRORIVS PP XIII.     1593 (April) Doge Pasquale Cicogna, the 88. Doge of Venice (1585-1595): Eleven line Vellum manuscript starting with "Pascalis Ciconia dei gra(cia) dux Veneciensis ex fidelis" etc. with archive notes on top and bottom: 'die faeta fuit mano' (acknowledged by hand). Although the official lead seal is missing, a fine early document. One of his greatest successes was converting the Rialto Bridge, one of Venice's major landmarks and the only bridge over the Grand Canal of Venice, from wood to stone between 1588 and 1591.

    1653 (May 27): Doge Francesco Cornaro or Corner (1585 – 1656) the 101. Doge of Venice: Vellum manuscript addressed to Michele Morosini e Griolamo Grimani, Podesta and Capitaneo of Verona, written and signed by the official secretary Nicolo Padavin. Although the official lead seal is missing, a fine early document with attached transcription on Cert. Bolaffi ( 2000). The reign of Cornaro as Doge was the shortest of any Doges. He was elected on 17 May 1656 and died only a few weeks later, on 5 June 1656.
