1842 (Jan. 12): Entire ship letter from Montevideo (Uruguay) to London endorsed "Willian Pitt", handstamped on arrival by two line COVE / SHIP.LETTER, delivered to the postal agency "COVE MY 29 1842" and taxed '8' in manuscript with London arrival marks "MY 31" and "N 1 JU 1 1842" on reverse. 1840: Entire letter from Dublin to London with fine oval "IMPERIAL HOTEL / POST PAID / DUBLIN" cachet in greenish black with manuscript '2' in red below, circular MORE / TO / PAY in red re-weighed and charged '6' in red manuscript, accompanied by framed 'PAID / APR. 27E / 1840' despatch in red. 1948/77: Lot two Hotel cards and two leaflets showing four diff. autographs, including Gresham Hotel card in Dublin signed by the famous film actress Ingrid Bergman (1948) further leaflet from the same hotel signed by Margaret O'Brian (*1937) the former child actress as Tootie Smith in 'Meet me in St. Louis' with Judy Garland, Great Southern Hotel (Killarney, Co. Kerry) leaflet with dedication by his own hand and signed by Charles Chaplin, dated 'March 27, 1961' as well as booklet of the legendary Ashford Castle dedicated "To Eliszabeth - My best always - Fred Astaire 1977", the famous dancer and Hollywood film actor (1899-1987).
