    Russia to to the Netherlands 1668 (Sept. 30): Entire letter with full content in Dutch, sent presumably from Moscow to Amsterdam as the text mentions the Big Fire of Moscow during the Moscow uprising, when the White City and Kitai-gorod was burned down.

    1775 (March 20): Entire double rate letter from St. Petersburg to Beaune endorsed 'fco Wesel', struck with superb framed ST. PETERSBOVRG despatch in black (Dobbin 0.02 = 8 pts.). Reverse with Russian charge '44' kopeks in manuscript and obverse with superb strike of PAR MASEYCK in red applied in Sedan on entry (Van der Linden fig. 2137). Manuscript 'dl' at top denoting doube letter and charged with '4' Brabant sols and, at right "3#2 = 32 sols x 2 = 64 sols to pay. A fine and attractive entire.

    1851 (Aug 4): Disinfected entire letter from Odessa to Trieste, from the "Department of Health, Quarantine of Odessa", informing that a passenger on a ship from Trieste currently held in quarantine had died in the Lazaret in Odessa; with complete red wax seal of the Office on reverse. An unusual and rare document.

    1828 (Oct & Nov): Disinfected entire letters (2), both from Taganrog bilingually addressed to Trieste, each disinfected on enrtry at Cracow, Poland and each struck there with origin handstamp "Russie" in black (Van der Linden fig. 2470). Reverse with Triest arrival datestamps in blue, both entires with a journey time of roughly 40 days. Fresh and fine cover.

    1830 (Aug 22j/3 Sept): Disinfected entire letter from Odessa to Genova, carried outside the mails to Brody with manuscript Forwarding Agent notation on reverse "Basileo G. Pasuoli, Brody 7 7bre 1830" and struck on obverse with oval framed BRODY / IN GALIZ in black. Disinfected at Novara with large oval Eagle cachet "R. Giunta Sanitaria di Novara" in bright blue. Opens well for Exhibit display, scarce.

    1872 (May 17): Lettersheet from St. Petersburg to Lyon bearing 1866 3 kop. green on hor. laid paper and 5 kr. lilac, a slightly discoloured example and 20 k. blue and orange, both on vert. laid paper, tied by St. Petersburg cds's with framed PD in red, Prussian 'AUS RUSSLAND' and blue French entry cds alongside, reverse with French TPO and Lyon arrival cds's (June 2). Front shows '5½' (Sgr.) weiterfranko from Prussia to France. An interesting combination of both laid papers, signed 'Prof Win(terstern)'.
