1861 (Aug 15): Cover and complete contents from Doorn River to Scotland, franked by 1855/63 6 d. pale rose-lilac on white paper, with margins all round, tied by CGH obliterator and by "Paid / Devonport / Cape Packet" (Sept 28) cds. Reverse with oval "George" datestamp in red, Cape Town cds in red, Greenock and Dunoon (sept 30) cds. Interesting content: "the new King of Natal (Cetawayo) is known to be hostile to Natal...there are 12'000 whites mixed up with 140'000 Zulu refugees .... he can bring into the field some 50'000 trained warriors ..." .
