    1855/63: 1 d. brown-red on cream paper, a very fine used block of four (left Die A, right Die B) with large margins all round, all cancelled with near complete "CGH" triangular obliterators in black. A fine and rare multiple Gi = £ 3'600.

    1861 (Aug 15): Cover and complete contents from Doorn River to Scotland, franked by 1855/63 6 d. pale rose-lilac on white paper, with margins all round, tied by CGH obliterator and by "Paid / Devonport / Cape Packet" (Sept 28) cds. Reverse with oval "George" datestamp in red, Cape Town cds in red, Greenock and Dunoon (sept 30) cds. Interesting content: "the new King of Natal (Cetawayo) is known to be hostile to Natal...there are 12'000 whites mixed up with 140'000 Zulu refugees .... he can bring into the field some 50'000 trained warriors ..." . A rare and attractive cover.

    1861: "Woodblock" 4 d. pale milky blue, used example of attractive appearance on piece with margins on all sides (showing parts of adjoining stamps), with two margins with minor scissor cuts not into design, cancelled by complete strike of CGH triangular obliterator in black Gi = £ 1'700.

    1853: Collection with 1 d. brick red (shades) used (3), 4 d. blue with singles (3), pairs (2) and a block of four used, 1855 6 d. lilac used (4), 1 s. yellow-green used (2) and a 1 s. deep dark green used, 1863 issue with 1 d. carmine unused and used  (2, one on piece), 4 d. blue (2), 6 d. mauve, 1 s. emerald used. Condition varies but most fine to very fine.

    1853/64: Superb mint and used collection on leaves, with 1853 1 d. brick red on blued paper mint and used (4), 4 d. blue on blued mint (3) and used (6), 1855 1 d. brick red to rose red on cream paper mint (6) and used (16, one cancelled in red); 4 d. mint (4) and used (48, including three pairs and a block of four and three covers), 6 d. lilac unused (2) and used (15, including two pairs); 1 s. deep green used (8) and emerald green mint (3) and used (8); 1861 Woodblocks with 1 d. vermilion used (2) and 1 d. carmine used, 4 d. milky blue with an unused example and used (3), 1863/64 issue with 1 d. carmine unused (4) and used (13, including one with "P.B.CANCELLED"), 4 d. blue used (4), 6 d. mauve used (4), 1 s. emerald used (2). Condition obviously variable but many very fine, a splendid lot with enormous catalogue value.
