    1897: 5 m. rose-carmine, used example on 1897 cover to Alexandria dated in manuscript from Khandaq (June 5), cancelled by TRAVELLING POST OFFICE datestamp in black (at this date the sole T.P.O. in the Sudan was between Kerma and Halfa running along the East bank of the Nile). Reverse with Halfa cds and Alexandria (13.VI) arrival cds. A scarce usage of the first issue on an arabic addressed cover.
