    2 pi. yellow, diagonally bisected example used on defective cover front to Port Said, cancelled by POSTE VICE REALI EGIZIANE / ALESSANDRIA datestamp (July 23) in black, with repeated strike at right. Whilst the Post Office circular from Muzzi Bey declared that Alexandria could use bisected 2 piastre stamps due to the stock of the 1 pi. being exhausted, from July 16th, the Alexandria bisect is nevertheless very much rarer than that of Cairo.
