    10 paras brown, horizontal pair used on small 1866 envelope to the American Mission in Cairo, tied by POSTE VICE-REALI EGIZIANE / ALESSANDRIA cds (Sept 14) in black with repeated strike at left, also tied by framed AFFRANCATURA / INSUFFICIENTE handstamp in black. Taxed with '1½' in manuscript (Charge 1 piastre, paid ½ piastre (double the deficiency) = 1½ piastres to pay). A rare and fine cover, illustrated in Smith on page 405.
