    1861: Cover endorsed 'On Her Majesty's Service' and 'via Marseilles' franked by 1857 1 d. red star, 1857 4 d. rose and 1 s. green all tied by BO2 obliterators in black with faint SUEZ single ring datestamp in blue at base, Southampton arrival (July 23) on reverse. Addressed to 'Captain C G. Pate, Superintendent of Packets in Southampton' with 9 d. rate for first ¼ ounce and then 3 d. per each further ¼ ounce, thus a triple rate franking. Minor imperfections but a scarce cover.
