    Type 3. 1878: Cover to France with 1865 1 a. pale brown and 1866 4 a. green tied by Calcutta duplex (Sept 3). Reverse with fine circular SEA POST OFFICE / C datestamp (Sept 27) applied in black at Bombay in error: should have been struck with 'Sept 6' but date marked for the return voyage. Carried on 'Nepaul' arriving Suez September 19, with Brindisi cds (Sept 23), 'Italie / Ambt. Midi' cds and Renaix arrival (Sept 26). Minor imperfections, illustrated in the handbook on page 36, the earliest recorded usage of Set C.
