    Type 1B. 1868: Mourning cover, edge faults to Benares, franked at Officer's rate via Marseilles with single 1867 10 d. red-brown tied by 'Ware / 812' duplex addressed to Colonel Henry Mills and endorsed 'Stamped ten pence' at top. Reverse with Puckeridge cds of despatch, fine oval SEA POST OFFICE / B datestamp (Sept 22) applied at Suez in blue. Carried on the 'Salsette' arriving Bombay Oct 3. Faults, but an early usage and a scarce rate (normal rate via Marseilles was 1s. 1d.) and the earliest usage of Set Letter B.
