1881: 2 c. red and 5 c. pale blue, fine margined examples used on 1881 cover, somewhat aged, neatly tied by circular AGENCIA POSTAL / BARRANQUILLA datestamp (Dec 1) in red. Reverse with New York/Paid All datestamp of receipt (Dec 20). Despite the envelope faults, a very rare cover - Colombia joined the UPU on July 1, 1881 and overseas letters were charged 5 centavos, on November 1, 1881 the overseas rate was increased to 7 centavos (as this cover shows) and the rate was again raised on January 1, 1882 to 10 centavos - thus this rate was possible for a two month period.Ausruf : 300 CHFZuschlag : 300 CHF -
