    1868: Imperial Post definitives 1 kop. brown and 5 kop. blue, tied by dotted numeral mark "724" of Alexandretta (Iskenderun) in blue to outer letter sheet, dated 'April 24 1869' inside, sent to Beirut, on reverse 'Port Alexandretta' and 'Port Beirut' cds's in blue (Tchilinghirian figs. 198 & 217). Harbour-to-harbour tariff of the Levant with Alexandretta being a rare provenance, most covers came from Aleppo and were forwarded via Alexandretta.
