    1866 (Dec 11): Cover from Cairo to Livorno franked by 1866 1 pi. claret tied by POSTE VICE REALI EGIZIANE / CAIRO cds in blue, transferred to Italian P.O. with 'Alessandria D'Egitto / Poste Italiane' cds at left (Dec 12) and franked by Italy 1863 60 c. lilac tied by dotted '234' numeral handstamp in black. Small cartridge 'Piroscafi / Postali / Italiani' below. Reverse with Brindisi transit and arrival (Dec 17). Slight file fold but an exceptionally attractive combination cover.
