    1851 (Feb 4): Entire letter from Cairo to Marseille struck on despatch with superb oval AGENZIA DELLA POSTA EUROPEA / CAIRO in black (Smith Type II), transferred to the French Post Office with 'Alexandrie/Egypte' cds (Feb 7) and over-struck with framed 'Paquebots / De La / Mediterranee' in red. Charged '10' décimes due in manuscript on arrival (Feb 16). A fine and early combination usage. Signed Todd AIEP.
