    1820: "Cavallino" 50 centesemi blue, struck on 1820 (Oct 28) entire letter from Novara to Lugano / Switzerland with oval 'Novara' handstamp of despatch in red above italic 'Dir. pp.le delle Poste / di Novara' handstamp in black, the Cavallino pre-paying the internal rate to thee border. "Milano / LT' transit in red and taxed on arrival in Lugano with '8' kreuzer due in red crayon. The entire refolded to show the printed inside, a rare and remarkable external usage. Signed E. Diena.
