10 r. vermilion, two examples used on reverse of 1871 entire letter from Bahia (Jan 9) to Figueira, Portugal in combination with 100 r. green all tied by large lozenge of dots handstamps in black. The 10 r. each show inverted sheet marginal imprint 'Compañia Americana De Billetes De Banco Nueva York' - believed to be one of only three such usages on letter. Carried on French Paquebot 'Gironde' with faint violet 'P. Transatlantico' on reverse and charged '300' reis due on receipt. Fresh and fine entire.Ausruf : 250 CHFZuschlag : 1.300 CHF -
