    Brasov. 1854 (Dec 12): Entire letter, written Dec 8, addressed to Brasov, Transylvania. Passed from the 'Starostie Local Post' with fine strike on flap of oval K. K. AGENZIE STAROSTIE IN CAMPINA with oval Arms vignette in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 733) struck over numeral '2698' and date 20/12, thence carried by Courier over the border where mailed with Austria 1850 3 kr. red (HP, Type III) tied by ÖBER TÖMÖS datestamp in black (22/12). Kronstadt cds on reverse (24/12). A few minor faults to the letter primarily due to the method of carriage, but the entire opens well for Exhibit display. A remarkable entire and believed unique.
