    1881 (Sept 5): Entire letter from Cesme to Constantinople franked by 1867/74 10 s. blue cancelled by the unique strike of circular AGENZIA DEL LLOYD AUSTRIACO-UNGARICO / CESME with large Anchor as vignette, struck perfectly in violet ink. Reverse with fine transit of SPED. POST PRESSO LLOYD / SMIRNE datestamp (Sept 6) and 'Costantinopoli / Lloyd' datestamp of arrival (Sept 10) in black. A few file folds, one of which touches the adhesive, but this is of no significance, the cancellation being the sole known example to date. Signed Holcombe.
