    1 d. intense black, plate 6, TI, good to very large margins all round, tied by violet (magenta) Maltese Cross to entire showing the Milton of Campsie receiving House marking "18" in the same characteristic violet ink on reverse, addressed to Glasgow with arrival marking 'Oct 22, 1840'. Extremely rare, only a few Post Offices are recorded having used a 'true' violet or magenta ink, including a small number of Glasgow receiving House Offices. Listed in 'Encyclopaedia of The Maltese Cross' by Rockoff & Jackson (2008) on page 427. B.P.A. certificate (1993), Gi = GBP 15'000.
