    1 d. black, plate 6, EJ, large margins on three sides, just shaved at bottom, tied by distinctive 'double line' Maltese Cross from Stonehaven in red to small sized cover to Aberdeen. On reverse a neat strike of the 'STONEHAVEN 8 FE 1841' datestamp for dispatch confirming the characteristic 'double lined' Maltese Cross originating from Stonehaven. The Stonehaven 'double lined' cross is recorded to be used from August 1840 - February 1841. A rarity so fine! Listed in 'Encyclopaedia of The Maltese Cross' by Rockoff & Jackson, vol. 2, page 259, B.P.A. certificate (1979) and RPSL cert. (1997). Gi = GBP 22'000.
