4 reales red, a fine example in a soft pale shade, used on folded 1873 cover to Latacunga with 1870/72 ½ real blue, watery impression, overlapping the weight marking "9 oz."; tied by the "3154" gros chiffres unusually struck in red with "Quito / Franca" datestamp (July 23) below in same ink, crossed by cover tear.
