    30 reis grey, Worn Impression, Second Composite plate, State A, positions 1-3/7-9/13-15, the famous used block of nine all cancelled six times by dated PERNAMBUCO SHIELD cancellation (January 29,1844) in black (Ayres 1548). Some manuscript showing on reverse from the original cover and insignificant ironed out creasing, with excellent margins all round (the block was originally cut into and margins have been added at top and at base) and showing the full marginal vertical guide line at left. Illustrated in "Bulls Eyes" by Brookman on page 3. The largest known multiple of the 30 reis in an excellent state of preservation for such a large multiple. A major rarity of South American philately.
