    1859 (Oct 2): Entire letter from Amoy to Hoyer, Schleswig; sent unpaid with reverse showing "Hong Kong" transit cds in blue (Oct 10). Red Marseille entry marking on front and reverse with Thurn & Taxis and Danish P.O. in Hamburg cds's (Nov 28) in black. Red crayon "11½" on reverse (assessed 4¾ sgr. for Amoy to France, 2½ sgr. for French share, 1 sgr. Belgian share and 3 sgr. German share = 11½ sgr. = 48 skilling). Charged "57" in manuscript red crayon on front (48 sk. + 9 sk. Danish share) due from recipient. A fine and unusual entire both from and to a scarce destination.
