1881: On Her Majesty's Service printed envelope, with contents, registered from Perth to Newcastle with intact green registration ribbon. Handstamped "♛ / PAID" and "♛ / REGISTERED" in black alongside "PERTH" despatch cds (Sept 19). Unclaimed on arrival and struck with superb "ADVERTISED / AND / UNCLAIMED" in red. Returned to sender with "PERTH" cds (March 7 - with inverted '2' for '1' in datestamp) and reverse with Perth datestamp (March 16, 1882).
