    1855: Perkins Bacon Trials: the page with Proofs of the '6 d.' value (16) each with waxed corners, with four in various shades of green, four in brown, four in slate-blue and four in various shades of deep red-brown; the form annotated "May 16, 1855 - New Postage Colors" at top. Four stamps in the top row with two annotated "prepared paper", the balance headed "Tests" with twelve stamps below cancelled in manuscript and subjected to various tests to remove the ink / cancellation with Chloride Lime, Murratic Acid and Liqua Potash.
