1850: 2 d. blue, Plate II (position 4) showing "No Whip and inner circle intersects Fan" variety, and 3 d. yellow-green on soft yellowish paper (position 1), each with large margins and of fine fresh colour, used on 1850 entire letter from Parramatta to London tied by bold strikes of barred "2" obliterator in black. Oval "SHIP LETTER / ♚ / SYDNEY" in red at right (June 20), reverse with "PARRAMATTA / ♚ / NEW S. WALES" despatch in black (June 19) and London arrival cds (Nov 4) in red where rated "8d." for an incoming Ship Letter in manuscript. Slight internal repairs to chatty letter "Still living in the Union Inn Public House...Beef at 1d. per pound". Palmer cover census #141.
