    Verticais 1850: 180 r. black, a very fine used example on obverse of 1856 cover from Rio de Janeiro to Fuligno, Papal States tied by scarce JAGOARAO circular handstamp in black. Reverse with British P.O. "RIO-JANEIRO" cds in black (June 12), thence via London with "Paid" cds (July 9) and framed "COLONIES / ART.18" in red; via Calais and Perugia to destination where charged "38" decimi to pay. Three side flaps missing but a very rare single franking (just two known via British Mail) and most attractive. Cert.
