    60 r. black, fine impression, two horizontal pairs used on reverse of 1844 entire letter at third weight step to the U.S. Consul in Rio Grande, both pairs from Large Plate, State B with large margins all round and of excellent rich colour (positions 43-44 and 45-46), each pair neatly tied by 'CORREIO GERAL DA CORTE' datestamps (July 30) in black. The area around the seal has been strengthened to protect the adhesives which have been removed for checking and replaced, otherwise fine. Illustrated in Juchert "Bull's Eyes on Covers" on page 141. Just four covers are known bearing four 60 reis adhesives: only two with a strip of four. A splendid and particularly beautiful Bulls Eye cover for the connoisseur. Cert.
