1868: 4 d. carmine, wmk. Crown CC, perf. 12½, FOUR PENCE with Thin Bar surcharge (A), together with 1864 1 d. lake in a horizontal pair on 1867 cover to Dunkeld, Perthshire endorsed "Officer's Letter"; uncancelled and possibly therefore unaccepted for the 6 d. Officer's rate and possibly mailed on board or on arrival. Struck with "s1/-" charge marking for double the 6 d. deficiency with "CAPE PACKET / DEVONPORT" datestamp alongside (June 24). Reverse with minor flap fault but showing Crest of "HMS Antelope", Dunkeld cds and Ballanluig arrival (June 27).
