    1886 (April): New Dies. 2 c. purple on lilac, perf. 13½, a used horizontal strip of four and a single example, on 1887 cover to Hamburg, Germany endorsed "voie de New York", all tied by "Cap Haitien / Haiti" circular datestamps (April 16) in black. Reversse with New York transit and Hamburg arrival cds (May 3). Small repaired tear in envelope and the first stamp has been added to the cover, however the strip is the largest known multiple of this stamp on letter.rnrnProvenance: Collection 'Hispaniola', Phillips, New York, 27 April 1987, lot 208.
