    1904 (Feb-Sept): Definitive 1 r. green, 2 r. dull & bright purple, 3 r. green & black, and 5 r. grey-black & red, wmk. Crown CA, all in unused blocks of four, each overprinted "SPECIMEN" (Samuel type D12) in black, the 2 r. with one tone spot on gum, fresh colours, upper pairs with protective hinge, lower pairs unmounted og. Extremely rare for Specimens of this period to be found in multiples other than strips of three (and even these are very unusual), the blocks therefore may have been prepared for prentation purposes rather than for distribution to the UPU.rnrnProvenance: Harmers, London, 8 July 1999, lot 1386.
