    1844: American Letter Mail Co. (5 c.) black imperforate, a horizontal pair with good to exceptional margins, used on 14 Nov 1844 second sheet of entire letter from New York to Philadelphia, each cancelled by manuscript black ink line, with circular "Forwarded By / American Mail. Co." Philadelphia cachet in red (Nov 15) at right. The adhesives with scissor cut in margin only and unaffected by file folds, an exceptional and very scarce usage with the adhesives tied to the cover. Cert.
