    Surcharged by De La Rue on GB 1890 (May 23): 4 a. on 5 d. dull purple & blue, a used block of four of good colour, cancelled by MOMBASA code C circular datestamps (July 1, 1890) in black. An exceptionally rare stamp in a used block of four: John Minns in "British East Africa" on page 5 records just this one block. Believed unique, a great rarity. Cert.
