    1896 (Aug 1): Locally surcharged 18 c. on 45 c. brown & carmine, an unused example with variety "Inverted "8" in 18", further overprinted "SPECIMEN" locally in black (Samuel type SY2) - this variety only occurs on the "Specimen" stamps. Fresh and fine, a very rare stamp. Cert. BPA (1981).
