1926: Opening of Canberra Parliament House, Die Proof of the 1½ d. value in carmine-lake on folded high quality wove paaper (145 x 115 mm.), designed by R. A. Harrison, engraved by J. A. C. Harrison; State 1 with the allegorical figure, the sky and the Shield unfinished, the Proof handstamped '11286' embossed in red on reverse at left and endorsed in pencil "2.12.46 / (4.30)". Photographic corner fault on reverse of no importance. This is the initial State of the design for the first Australian Commemorative issue; three examples were pulled: one is housed in the British Library Collection, another (ex R. T. P.
