Single Watermark 1916 (Sept): Sideface 1 d. carmine-red (aniline), Die I, wmk. Crown over A, perf. 14¼ x 14, Cooke printing, an unused block of six (3 x 2), Right Pane, Plate 2, positions 28-30 / 34-36, with positions 34 and 35 at lower left each showing variety "Rusted Cichés - Pre-Substituted Clichés", the wear behind the King's head on pos. 34 and the wear on the Wattles at left being very prominent, the multiple hinged to prevent separation on the left pair, the block of four at right being unmounted og. Illustrated in Brusden White on page 4/85 who state "Mint examples are very rare and any pieces including both the rusted clichés are of extreme rarity". Three mint blocks exist: one (ex R. T. P. Chapman) is housed in the Australia Post Archival Collection, the other is housed in the collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
