    1871: De Le Rue Die Proof for 3 d. value, printed in pale brown on surface glazed white card (86 x 56 mm.), with manuscript "Approved W.S" (W.C. Sargent, one of the two Agents General) with faint pencil manuscript "12'000 Stamps" at base. Illustrated in 'The De La Rue Collection' edited by Frank Walton on page 6531. Slight soiling as this was a working rather than Presentation Proof.
