Chalons 1868/78: 2 d. deep blue, Plate II, a horizontal pair with single 1 s. purple, used on 1879 double rate cover, with original contents, from Cleveland Bay to Blackheath, London and tied in black with despatch cds adjacent "TOWNSVILLE / QUEENSLAND" (June 20). Reverse with London cds (Aug 9). Illustrated and listed in the Ben Palmer census on page 240.
