    1868/78: Chalon 3 d. brown and 1882 Sideface 1 d. pale vermilion used on 1883 cover to London endorsed "England by Torres Straits", tied by "QL" obliterators with "LEYBURN / QUEENSLAND" despatch cds (Feb 23). Reverse with Brisbane cds and "PLYMOUTH / SHIP LETTER" transit cds in black (April 22) and London arrival. A rare 4 d. rate cover - the rate for the Long Sea route was reduced in February 1881. Listed in the Ben Palmer census on page 252.
