    1870: Double rate Value cover from Valençay to Champaissant nearby Saint-Cosme-en-Vairais with an insured value of 730 francs, bearing Siège 40 c. orange in combination with Cérès 1872 5 c. green (2), 15 c. bistre, 25 c. blue type I and pair 80 c. rose, overall fine and fresh adhesives, the Siège with oxidation traces, tied by fair Gros Chiffres '4072' lozenge. VALENCAY despatch cds (Feb 16, 74) as well as CHARGÉ handstamp in red alongside. Reverse with timbre indicatif de chargement, two ambulants and "St. COSME" transit cds of the next day. A very attractive and unusual five-colour franking from this small office.
