Issued at Old Calabar 1893 (Dec): 'HALF / PENNY' in violet on Great Britain 2 d. grey-green & carmine, an unused horizontal pair with first stamp showing Gibbons Type 7 handstamped surcharge in violet and second stamp surcharged Gibbons Type 3 in violet, variety "Surcharge Vertical Reading Up", large part og. with typical speckles from red blotting paper utilised to store the adhesives.
