    1859 (1. Aug.): 10c. brown, "Vittorio Emanuele II" fine and fresh example cancelled neatly  "(PARM)A 1. Aug. 59" making it a First Day of use of the Sardinian stamps, before the Provisional Government stamps became available. A very rare usage indeed. We have no further 10c. stamps bearing this date recorded. Signed E. Diena and A. Diena with certificate (1974).rn
