    Recess by De La Rue 1863/66: 2 d. grey green and 6 d. blackish-brown in a horizontal strip of three, wmk. Crown CC type 5, perf. 12½, used on 1867 double rate cover to Leamington endorsed "via Marseilles", cancelled by barred obliterators in black. "KANDY / PAID" despatch cds in red at left (April 15) and reverse with "Galle / Paid" transit in red alongside Leamington arrival cds (May 13).
