    Mahe 1865: India ½ a. blue, Die I (Gi 54), a used vertical pair and a block of fourteen (7 x 2) used on reverse of 1872 cover to Bordeaux, tied by fine strikes of barred "C / 192" obliterators in black. MAHE despatch cds in red below (Oct 24), the franking correct for a ½ ounce cover for Britain but overpaid 1½ annas for France. Carried on P&O "Peshawur" fron Bombay to Suez with "Poss Angl. V. Brind / A Mod" datestamp in red on obverse (Nov 15). A charming and unusual franking.
