    1871 (June 14): Registered cover from Mammola-Gerace to the  Italian ambassador in Dresden, forwarded to Berlin, bearing 1863 DLR 40 c. 'rosa carminio' (2) in mixed franking with 1866 Torino printing 30 c. 'bruno castano' (3) and 60 c. 'lilla chiaro' (2), tied by light '1317' numeral obliterator with matching "MAMMOLA-GERACE despatch cds, "P.D." and framed RACCOMANDATO handstamps, all in black alongside. A fresh and fine mixed franking of both prints, the letter rate from Italy to the North German Postal Union, valid between 1869 and 1873 was 40 c. plus 40 c. registration fee. Signed A.
