    1859: 1 gr. carmine, plate II with large to huge to enormous margins, tied by small circular "AMALFI 17 AGO 61" datestamp (Sassone SA = 12 punti) to entire letter directed to Salerno, reverse with Bourbon-style arrival cds of the next day. This 'cerchio piccolo' - type datestamp came in  use after the adherence of Naples to the Regno di Italia. The entire was taxed with '1' (gr.) as the franking did not pay the special 2 grana rate within the province which was in force from February 1861 to September 1862. Cert. E.
