Faux d'Oran 1876 (Feb 16): Cover from Oran to Tlemcen, bearing a single example of the Faux d'Oran adhesive produced to defraud the postal service. The adhesive left uncancelled with "ORAN ALGERIE 16 FEVR 76" despatch cds in black alongside. The franking was not accepted, a handwritten note "Loi du 16 Octobre 1849" was added at the right of the stamp. Taxed in manuscript with '4' décimes for an unpaid letter. Signed Dillemann; certs.
